Shia Saide LaBeouf is an American actor and comedian. He grew up in California and became known as an actor in the television series Even Stevens, in which he played the naughty younger son. He made the transition to film roles with Holes, a financial success. He later starred in the Hollywood films Constantine and The Greatest Game Ever Played. In 2007 and 2008, he had major roles in several well-known films including Disturbia, Transformers, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Shia LaBeouf was born in Los Angeles, the son of father Jeffrey LaBeouf, a former pantomime actor and rodeo clown, and mother Shayna Saide, a dancer and ballerina. He comes from a large family of artists. He is an only child. LaBeouf described his parents as ever ‘hippies’. Later, his parents divorced and he was raised by his mother in Echo Park in Los Angeles. Early in his youth, he began performing, especially as a stand-up comedian. Later in his youth, he was at Alexander Hamilton High School and he studied art. At eighteen, he bought a house.
LaBeouf says he originally did not want to be an actor, but by the divorce of his parents, he ended up in that world. He became famous when he was playing Louis Stevens in the weekly TV series Even Stevens on the Disney Channel. LaBeouf was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award, a prize for programs broadcast during the day. In 2004 he had a small role in the sci-fi movie I, Robot. The following year he starred in the horror film Constantine, with Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz. The following year he was one of the important supporting roles in the drama film about Robert F. Kennedy, Bobby, in which he played a nude scene for the first time.
